James Jones
Funeral Director/Preneed Sales Agent
Jim is the president of Preferred Morticians, inc. and owner of Lockenour-Jones Mortuary and Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel. He attended Cypress College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1978. Jim is a licensed Funeral/Director in Nebraska for 40 years. He licensed as a Insurance Agent with Homesteaders Life Company to provide Pre-Need Funeral Insurance. He purchased the mortuary from R.M. Lockenour in 1991. Jim is married to Joyce Goneweg and have 6 children and 13 grandchildren.
Michal Swanson
Funeral Director/Preneed Sales Agent
Michal Swanson was born and raised in southwest Nebraska. He attended school in McCook through the first grade and went on to graduate high school from Chase County High School in Imperial. He continued his education at Northwest Missouri State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before obtaining his Mortuary Science - Advanced Standing Diploma from DMACC in Ankeny, Iowa. Michal was then employed by Roper and Sons Funeral Home in Lincoln, Nebraska where he completed his internship and earned his license as a funeral director and embalmer in 2010. In 2011 Michal was employed by Liewer Funeral Homes of Imperial where he worked until 2020. He served as a military police investigator with the Nebraska Army National Guard and was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. He is a member of Rotary, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and has served on many boards and committees in his time in southwest Nebraska. He is married to Angie (Krajewski) Swanson originally of Grant, Nebraska and they have two daughters, Tenley Jo and Raegan Grace. He and his family attend St. Patrick Catholic Church of McCook.
