Stephen J. Pike, age 63, of Cambridge passed away at his home on Sunday, March 8, 2020. He was born in San Bernardino, CA on February 3, 1957 to James and Joyce (Mansel) Pike. As a teen he moved from Lubbock, Texas to Marana, Arizona, where he graduated from Marana High School. On February 19, 1976 he was united in marriage to Arnetta McRorey at the 25th Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX.
Steve was employed as a superintendent for 18 years at several meat packing facilities from Texas to Nebraska, working for Swift, Con Agra and IBP. Steve and Arnetta moved to Cambridge to be close to family in 2007.
He enjoyed barbeque grilling, fishing, tinkering with old cars, teaching his kids and grand kids about repairs and just family time. He also enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and tending flowers. Steve was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Cambridge, where he served as a Deacon. Steve loved the Lord more than anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Joyce Pike; brother, Jimmy Pike; and sister, Cathy Sue Pike.
Steve is survived by his wife, Arnetta of Cambridge, NE; three sons, Justin (Megan) Pike of Polk, NE, Jonathon Pike of Cambridge, NE, Trevor Pike of Cozad, NE, four daughters Lena (Justin) Osborne of Kogan, NM, Jessica (Josh) Shockley of Norton, KS, Katie Mortimore Pike of Kearney, NE, Lena Pike (Chad Frerichs) of Bartley, NE; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Lorraine (James) Cantrell Lubbock, TX, Barbara Flores of Haskell, TX; brothers, Rex (Diane) Pike of Haskell, TX, Charles Pike of Las Vegas, NV.
Funeral services will be held at the Calvary Baptist Church, Cambridge, NE, on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Rick Bradley officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, NE. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, Cambridge, from 10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given in Steve's name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary.
