James "Jamie" Lawless Obituary

James “Jamie” Lawless of Oxford, NE passed away at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE 0n October 4, 2019.  HE was born in McCook on November 17, 1985 to Gregg and Constance ( nèe Brown) Lawless. 

 

Jamie started life with challenging heart defects. All through his life you wouldn't know it, as he was a fighter and never quit. 

As a child Jamie loved tools, cars and trucks. As a toddler he would collect wood for Gregg.  He loved taking items apart that he shouldn't be taken apart.  He enjoyed helping Uncle Pat with tractors; and helping Grandpa Bob and Billy Smith with VFW fish fries. 

Jamie attended Palisade Public School for K through 6th grade. Jamie was home-schooled for his junior and senior high years. Jamie studied art at McCook Community College. Jamie had different jobs though the years as a cook, security and in maintenance .

On May 17, 2007 he was united in marriage to Amber Gray.  The couple has lived in southwest NE and have lived in Oxford for the last 6 years.   Jamie was an Artist painting, drawing.  He enjoyed video games, hunting and fishing.  He had a kind heart, helping several shut-ins and elderly with yard work and extra chores. He also worked part-time as a maintenance man at the Housing authority in Oxford.

He was preceded in death by an infant uncle, Robert Lee Brown Jr; grandparents Robert L Brown, Linda Sue (North) Brown, William J Lawless and Martha K (Stevenson) Lawless and numerous great aunts and uncles. 

Jamie is survived by his wife: Amber of Oxford; Parents: Greg and Connie Lawless sister: Jasmine Lawless; brother: Jeremiah Lawless all of Osborne, KS.

In keeping with Jamie’s wishes he chose cremation and a Celebration of Life will take place Sunday November 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm at 103 W. North Railway St. Oxford, NE please RSVP to either Amber or Connie Lawless..  Memorials may be left in his name at the Lockenour-Jones Mortuary of Cambridge.
