Obituary

Franklin D- Carroll, 86, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019, in Fort Collins,
CO. He leaves his wife of 64 years Marilyn (Englert) Carroll, his sister Norma Carroll, his
children Laurie and her husband David Hasenburg, Lisa and her husband Dan Green, and Mark
and his wife Jodi Carroll, along with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-children.

Born and raised in Cambridge, NE, Frank enjoyed reminiscing about his years growing
up in Cambridge. He particularly enjoyed talking about his first job in the grocery store,
working on the construction crew of the dam at Medicine Creek Recreation Area, and various
fond memories of friends and relatives surrounding Cambridge. Frank always laughed when
telling stories about high school and college shenanigans in which he took part. Passionate about
football and sports, Frank always kept up to date on the accomplishments of the Cambridge
High School football team- Of course, he was a lifelong Nebraska football fan, and was always
very vocal in his support of his team. He also enjoyed baseball, particularly the Yankees.

After graduating High School in Cambridge, Frank attended Doane College in Crete, NE-
While obtaining his bachelor’s degree in economics, Frank met the love of his life, Marilyn,
and they were married on June 12, 1955. During this time period, Frank joined the Marine
Corps, and was very proud of his service to his county. After graduating from Doane College,
Frank attended law school at the University of Nebraska. After graduation, he practiced law in
Grant, NE, Omaha, NE, and McCook, NE before taking a position as an Administrative Law
Judge in Lansing, MI and Omaha, NE. Frank retired in 1997 after a long and successful career
in law.

After retirement, Frank and Marilyn traveled frequently between their homes in Fort  Collins, CO

and Cambridge, NE. They were often called "the traveling parents" by their

children, and always laughed when they couldn't be found. Frank was devoted to his family,
putting the needs of his wife and children above his own desires. Frank loved telling stories
about growing up in NE at holiday dinners with family,. An avid reader, Frank was surrounded
by books and enjoyed a good story.

Frank passionately loved his wife Marilyn, his children, grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, and pets (particularly Jocko the bulldog and Wilson the Yorkie)! He was devoted
to his sister, always making sure her needs were met- He lives forever in our hearts and will be
greatly missed.
