Debra "Deb" Sue Young, age 67, of Cambridge, NE, passed away at the CHI Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, NE on Saturday, January 28, 2023.

Deb was born in Laramie, Wyoming, on June 2, 1955, to Donald and Gwen (Sherard) Stine. She attended and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1973.

On February 16, 1974, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Phillip Young.  To this union three children were born: Kraig, Suzanne, and Jessica.  Phillip preceded her in death on February 14, 2014.

Deb had a loving daycare in her home for several years.  On May 1, 1990, she was hired by the City of Cambridge to work at the Butler Memorial Library.  She retired from the library on June 30, 2017, after 27 years.  Deb belonged to F.R.O.G of Cambridge, The Flossy Posse and The Naughty Grandmas.  Deb served on the Board of the Cambridge Senior Center and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She enjoyed traveling with her friends to New York, the Bahamas, New Orleans, and many other locations.  The thing that brought Deb the most joy was her family.  She loved hosting them at the family cabin at Harry Strunk Lake near Cambridge and traveling to watch them do the things they loved.  Deb seldom missed any of her children’s or grandchildren’s academic or sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Young; son, Kraig Young; father, Don Stine; granddaughter, Bexlee Lynn Grindle; father-in-law, Gene Young.
