Thayne Emrich

C. Thayne Emrich, age 89. 0f Indianola, NE passed away at the Cambridge Memorial hospital on Friday, November 15, 2019. He was born in indianola, NE on December 14, 1929, to Floyd Joseph and Wilma (Kerst) Emrich.  Thayne attended Indianola schools, but quit school to help on the family farm. He later went on to get his GED, an accomplishment of which he was extremely proud.

Thayne served his country in the US Army. He was Honorably Discharged on October 24, 1959.  He enjoyed woodworking, making bowls, pens and canes for the Masonic Home.  Several of his items won ribbons at the Red Willow County Fair.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF and AM of Bartley. Thayne loved his dogs as if they were his kids. Over the years he raised pugs and rat terriers.  His last faithful companion, Max, had to be put to sleep just two weeks ago.

Thayne was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma, in 1984 and his father, Floyd, in 1986.

Thayne is survived by cousins and caregivers; David and Cindy Burton.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Visitation will be Monday, November 18, 2019, 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, Cambridge, Nebraska.  Funeral Services Tuesday, November 19, 2019, 10:30 a.m. at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary with Dave Burton giving words of comfort. Burial in the Bartley Cemetery, Bartley, Nebraska.
