Robert A. Vise, age 90, passed away at the Beaver City Manor on December 25, 2017.  He was born in Wilsonville, NE on July 22, 1927 to Everett and Florence (McConnel) Vise.  Robert grew up on the family farm and attended school in Wilsonville graduating from Wilsonville High School in 1941.

Robert entered the U.S. Army in October of 1945, serving in the Pacific Theater along with the occupation forces in Japan.  He was honorably discharged on January 27, 1947.   On July 30, 1948, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Klinzman in Smith Center, KS.  She preceded him in death on May 2, 2009. 

Robert worked for Garvey Elevator Company, managing the elevator in Lebanon, NE.  After retirement to Beaver City, he had a small engine repair business.   Robert has been a resident of the Beaver City Manor for the past ten years as health did not permit him to live at home.  He was a member of the VFW of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Florence Vise; wife, Dorothy Vise; brother, Dwight Vise; brothers in-law Royce Whitney and Tim Tillotson.

Robert is survived by his two daughters, Barbara and husband, Ray Stewart, of Atlanta, NE and Judy and husband, Dan Conley, of Fredericksburg, TX; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nadine Whitney of Norton, KS, Jean and Jim Kircher of Bellingham, WA and Sharon Tillotson of Wilsonville; two brothers, Wayne Vise and wife, Helen, of Springfield, MO and John Vise and wife, Sharon, of Lexington, NE.

Memorial services along with Military Honors will be conducted at the Wilsonville Cemetery in the spring under the direction of Lockenour Jones Mortuary.  Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.  Memorials may be left in Robert’s name to the Rural Med Hospice of Holdrege, NE.
